Christian Writers’ Forum celebrates 15th Anniversary, 9th July 2011 Jabalpur

CHRISTIAN Writers’ Forum celebrated its 15th anniversary at the assembly hall of Leanard Theological College, Civil Lines on Saturday. Bishop Gerald Almeida of Jabalpur Catholic Diocese graced the programme as Chief Guest while MLA, LB Lobo and Principal of Leonard Theological College, Rev. Richard Rodgers were invited as guests of honour.

After formal inauguration, president of Christian’s Writers Forum, Rev. P.B. Lal and Secretary, Francis Joseph explained about 15 years of prestigious journey witnessed by the Forum. Bishop, Almeida also released the 12th book of Forum ‘Pavitra Bible ka Parichay’ (Introduction of Holy Bible) and presented a copy of the guests of honour, president and secretary each.

Executive member of Forum, Sanjay Mathews informed that the book was penned by Thomas Beck of Varanasi diocese. Following which, Bishop Gerald Almeida inaugurated the official website of Forum i.e. www.cwfindia.com as well as a new Web Book Writers Directory 2001.

Bishop Alomeida later showered his blessings over the assembly through his discourses. Principal of Theological College Rev. Rodgers in his inspiring lecture, said that writers have the duty to contribute in social development through their writings. They must write such things, which will empower the society people and apprise them with their rights and duties towards the country and society.

MLA, LB Lobo extended congratulation to the Forum officer bearers for completion of 15 years by their organization.

Joint secretary, Manish Charles informed that the official website of forum was available in both Hindi and English language. Various achievements and other milestones set by the organization during it 15 years’ of long journey in the fields of art, culture, literary, education, media, book publication and other social activities have been clearly displayed in the website. A large number of people including more than thirty students from Leonard Theological College were present during the programme. The programme was ended with vote of thanks proposed by Vice President Ms. Tresa Rodriques.
